TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions should be carefully read by Askari MasterCard holders for availing the benefits of Askari MasterCard (AM) Sensible Shop (AMSS) Program for Basic CardMember (Cardmember) of Askari MasterCard issued by Askari Bank Limited Consumer Banking Services Group (CBSG). These Terms and Conditions shall be binding upon the Cardmember, who shall be deemed to have accepted the same.

Cardmember can accrue the reward points.

Cardmember can’t accrue the reward points but points already earned can be redeemed. All accrued reward points are cancelled and Cardmember will not be eligible for any redemption.


The Cardmember may contact Askari Bank Ltd's (the Bank), Consumer Banking Services Group (CBSG) for any clarification that may be required.

1. Askari MasterCard (AM) Sensible Shop ("AMSS") is a program for Basic Credit Cardmember ("Cardmember") of Askari MasterCard, issued by Askari Bank Ltd's (the Bank) Consumer Banking Services Group (CBSG).

2. During the continuation of AMSS, the Cardmember will be awarded 1 (one) Reward Point under Askari MasterCard (AM) Credit Card Account per Rs.50 (or equivalent foreign currency) charged by him to his AM Credit Card account for purchase of any Products or Services covered by the AMSS Program. The Bank reserves the right to change at any time and without prior notice the basis or the ratio of (a) Askari Reward point (to be awarded); and (b) the specified amount charged to the Cardmember AM Credit Card account. Purchase balance would be rounded.

3. AMSS Reward Points will be accumulated only on retail transactions like airline tickets, restaurant charges, hotel charges, etc. and is not applicable on cash advance transactions. All these items have been listed in the Catalogue/website. The Bank may at its discretion remove any transactions or Products or Services from the AMSS Program, or add further transactions, Products and Services in AMSS Program, at its discretion by issuing supplementary Catalogues or updating on web site from time to time. Provided that removal of any transactions, Product or Service shall not affect the Reward Points already earned by a Cardmember up to the point of such removal, except as provided under these Terms and Conditions. Charges which are not eligible for AMSS Points include, but are not limited to annual/joining card membership fees, interest fees, late payment charges, General Sales Tax (GST),charges for cash advances/withdrawals, interest and/or financial charges, annual membership fee/renewals, disputed transactions, government charges, foreign currency traveler cheques or any other kind of charges for dishonored cheque or other Credit Card payments, charges for replacements or supplementary cards, payments of premium for insurance policies or products, over limit charges, other charges and penalties, balance transfer, service charges on balance transfer and retail transactions.

4. The availability of Reward Points under the AMSS Program is subject to an overriding condition that the Cardmember of Askari MasterCard does not commit default in the payment of any charges or delays payment of any charges payable by him on any transaction. In case of any default or delay in payment, which may attract late payment charges, the Cardmember shall lose his Reward Points.As per accrual Redemption & Cancellation Grid.

5. If in the sole opinion of the Bank a false, inaccurate or fraudulent Credit Card transaction has occurred, the accuracy, amount or other particulars of any Credit Card transaction are disputed by the Bank, a Cardmember, the retailer or any other party or the validity of any Credit Card transaction for payment purposes is challenged for any reason whatsoever, no Points shall accrue in respect of that transaction. However following investigation, if the Bank determines that the transaction was valid and accurate in all respects, the Points attributable to that transaction will be accumulated for the Cardmember. The Bank may add to, or remove from the list of eligible charges, which decision shall be final and conclusive. Entitlement to participation in the AMSS is limited to Cardmember whose Credit Cards are valid and in good standing in all respects with the Bank and are not in payment arrears or otherwise in default in any way at the commencement date or at any time thereafter. Any breach of the conditions or the general terms and conditions of issue of Credit Cards by any Cardmember Shall automatically disqualify that Cardmember from participation in the AMSS and any points that have been accumulated by that Cardmember shall be immediately forfeited.

6. Each Cardmember holding Askari MasterCard at the commencement date shall automatically qualify to participate in the AMSS and may accumulate Points from the commencement date. Cardmember acquiring an Askari MasterCard after the commencement date will participate in the AMSS from the date their Credit Cards are activated and become effective.

7. AMSS Points awarded will be shown in the monthly statement, and will be redeemable in such a manner as set out in this AMSS Catalogue/Website (for gifts issued in the AMSS Catalogue/Website). Only AMSS Points accumulated up to and shown in the latest issued monthly statement or such other dates as may be determined by the Bank, at its discretion will be redeemable. Details of redemption transactions in each month will appear in Cardmember next monthly statement.

8. AMSS Points accumulated under AM Credit Card account are only redeemable if AM Credit Card account is open (i.e. not cancelled, terminated or suspended by the Cardmember or the Bank), or is not fraudulently operated, and is current (i.e. there are no past due balances in the AM Credit Card account). Any accumulated Points that exist upon cancellation or expiration of a Credit Card shall automatically be cancelled after one months of the closure of the Cardmember account. Any deviation to policy will be up to the discretion of the Bank.

9. The points are not transferable to any other person and are not exchangeable for cash or any other things of whatsoever nature, whether tangible or intangible. The points earned cannot however be en-cashed, sold, transferred or otherwise assigned from one Cardmember to another.

10. Points earned by a supplementary Cardmember will be credited to the account of the basic Cardmember and may be used only by the basic Cardmember for rewards.

11. AMSS Points accumulated under AM Credit Card account are forfeited when AM Credit Card account is closed, or is not in good standing in the opinion of the Bank, or the Cardmember AM Credit Card account has expired or has ceased to be effective or a breach of the AM Card Agreement has occurred. Without prejudice to the foregoing, any AMSS Points awarded to a Cardmember which remain unredeemed after such period as the Bank may prescribe from time to time, will be forfeited. For this purpose, AMSS Points accumulated under AM Credit Card account will be deemed to be redeemed in the order they are awarded to the Cardmember. Any outstanding redemption in order for the Cardmember AMSS Reward Points, which have been forfeited, shall not be entertained whether such redemption order is received before or after relevant AMSS Reward Points are forfeited.

12. Redemption order for any merchandise or services item ("Product or Services") is subject to the Bank's approval and availability of the Product and/or the Services and Supplier's restrictions. The Bank may without notice withdraw or substitute any reward credited for another reward of comparable value and nature.

13. The Bank does not act as supplier of the Products or provider of the Services covered in this Catalogue/website. Its role is only to facilitate placement of order(s) on behalf of the Cardmember(s) and process the statement(s) through AM Credit Card accounts. It is agreed and understood that the purchases of any Products or Services by the Cardmember shall be at its own risk and responsibility, since the Bank will not get involved in any disputes, issues or controversies that may arise between the Cardmember and any Supplier of Products or Provider of Services.

14. The Bank will not be responsible for any damage or loss incurred by the Cardmember arising out of the purchase, supply, installation, use or otherwise of any Product(s) or Service(s) in any manner or form as the Bank shall not have any responsibility for any negligence, breach of commitment or statutory or other duty in this respect on part of the Supplier.

15. The Bank gives no warranty (whether expressed or implied) whatsoever with respect to rewards and Products or Services covered therein. In particular, without limitation to the above, the Bank gives no warranty with respect to the quality or characteristics of rewards or their suitability or fitness for any purpose.

16. The Bank has taken and will take all reasonable care to ensure that what appears in this Rewards Catalogue/Website is accurate, but does not accept any liability for any inaccuracy of information or misstatement contained herein. All information and descriptions of rewards in the Rewards Catalogue are based on information provided by Suppliers and the Bank cannot accept any liability as to the correctness or accuracy of such description or information.

17. The Bank is entitled at any time and without any prior notice or liability in any manner whatsoever to terminate AMSS's Program or cancel or vary its benefits or features, or vary, or add to or delete any of these terms and conditions, or withdraw or change the participants of AMSS, or modify the value of AMSS Points and/or the manner of their redemption even though any of such acts may diminish values of the AMSS Points already accumulated. These conditions are supplemental to and are in no way to the exclusion of the General Terms and Conditions of issue of Credit Cards. If any inconsistency is found/present between the conditions and the General Terms and Conditions of issue of Credit Cards, the General Terms and Conditions shall apply to the exclusion of these terms and conditions.

18. All decisions of the Bank, program data and records kept by the Bank, including information relating to Cardmember, the accumulated points of Cardmember, rewards entitlement and Rewards Catalogue information shall be final and binding on all Cardmember. No Cardmember shall be entitled to challenge the validity or accuracy of AMSS data of record for any purpose whatsoever.

19. Rewards are not exchangeable or refundable or redeemable in cash under any circumstances and are also not replaceable in the event of loss or diminishment after being credited according to the terms and conditions contained herein or prescribed by the Supplier of any Products or Services, with the Bank not being a party to the same.

20. If a Reward arrives damaged or faulty, the same must be notified to the Bank and to the Supplier within two days of its receipt giving full details including the name of the carrier. The Bank will not be responsible for damaged/defective goods. It is advisable not to sign for an open package but to return the same to the Supplier marked as "unexamined and rejected, being damaged or defective".

21. If the basic Cardmember account is terminated at any time for any reason, whether by the Cardmember or the Bank, the Cardmember and supplementary Cardmember shall forthwith be disqualified from participating in AMSS and all unused points then accrued shall automatically be cancelled after one months of the closure of the Cardmember account.

22.The Bank shall not be liable if it is unable to perform its obligations under these terms and conditions, directly or indirectly due to the failure of any machinery or communication system, failure or non performance by the Supplier (manufacturer, or merchant of Products or provider of service), industrial dispute/strike or lockout, war, Act of God, damage to or destruction of machinery, equipment or records of the Bank or any reward provider (Supplier of Products or provider of Services), or any action or direction of the State Bank or other regulatory authority or any other thing outside the control of the Bank. Nor shall the Bank be responsible for any delay in the transmission to the Bank of evidence of Rewards transactions by the participating merchants (Suppliers) or other third party. In such an event, all obligations of the Bank shall be suspended and the Cardmember shall have no entitlement to file any claim or suit against the Bank or otherwise hold the Bank liable for the consequences thereof. If such event continues for a continuous period of two months, the Bank may at its discretion terminate the AMSS by notice in writing without any further obligation to the Cardmember.

23. The AMSS is a program for sale promotion of the Suppliers and customer satisfaction; the same does not in any manner or form create any contractual or tortuous liability on the Bank.

24. Any tax of any nature that may be imposed upon the Cardmember on the Rewards and is chargeable to the Cardmember account under the law, shall be charged to the Cardmember and paid to the concerned tax authorities on account of the pertinent Cardmember.

25. This Catalogue/website contains products for availment of the Reward. i.e. the orders for pertinent Products or Services should be placed upon the pertinent Supplier or Service provider on or before the expiry of the business hours.

26. In case any product provided for Rewards in the form of discounts, the Rewards will be available only after the discounted price has been charged to the Cardmember AM Credit Card account and paid to the Supplier or Service provider, as the case may be.

27. If at any time any dispute arises in connection with either the AMSS or these terms and conditions the Bank's decision in connection with the same shall be final and binding upon the Cardmember.

28. The product is only redeemable once; expenses over and above will be borne by the Askari MasterCard Holders.

29. All points earned by any Cardmember at any date of the year must be redeemed by cardmember within three year (qualified as per above point accrual redemption & cancellation grid) starting from the date of reward point's accrual, otherwise they will expire.
